An Education on Flossing

Posted .

Flossing is an important habit to have if you care for your teeth and smile. However, many people seem to neglect their nightly floss and suffer painful and costly consequences. That is why our team here at Sonshine Family Dental is happy to give you this basic education on flossing and why it is essential for your smile.

Cavities can appear anywhere you have tooth enamel. That means they can show up along your gum line, between your teeth, and even the outside top and sides of your teeth are at risk. By brushing your teeth with a toothbrush twice a day for two minutes a day will help the sides and top of your teeth, which leaves between the teeth and deep along the gum line still exposed.

Flossing is designed to keep your teeth risk-free from cavities in those hard-to-reach places. There are several different types of floss to slide between your teeth and gently clean along the gum line to help your teeth stay healthy. Flossing every night before bed will greatly reduce these risks of cavities and keep your teeth in tip-top shape.
